AP Photo of Dying Marine
The parents of Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard, 21, asked the AP to not publish his “death” photo but they ignored the request.
Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard, a marine, was injured by a rocket propelled grenade while fighting against the Taliban in Afghanistan on August 14th.
Both the Secretary of Defense and Bernard’s family pleaded that the AP not publish the photos but the AP didn’t listen and only said that the photo:
“conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.”
