Jeanne Louise Calment was the oldest person in the world to live when she reached 122 years old. However until recently Gertrude Baines was the oldest person in the world but she died today September 11th at 115 years old.

Gertrude Baines really enjoyed her last days since she was on a diet that consisted of ice cream, friend chick and bacon! Last year Baines said that she was enjoying life and wouldn’t mind living another 100 years. Doctors say that it is likely she died in of a heart attack during her sleep but an autopsy will be performed.

That means that Kama Chinen is now the oldest person at the world who is currently 114 years old. However no one has yet surpassed Jeanne Louise Calment who is the person who lived the longest in recorded history at 122 years old.
