Street Vendor Shot in New York

Raymond Martinez was scamming tourists in Times Square in New York. He was trying to get shoppers to buy his CDs. A Sergeant recognized him from previous legal problems. Sgt. Christopher Newsom, who runs an organization to stop aggressive panhandlers, asked Martinez for his tax stamps, which would legally allow him to sell on the streets. Martinez ran when asked and Sgt. Newsom ran after him. Martinez pulled out and fired a 30 round machine pistol.
