George Sodini | LA Fitness Shooting
George Sodini is the man responsible for the LA Fitness Shooting that took place yesterday in Pittsburgh.
George Sodini seemed to have been a very disturbed man. He was a blogger and left behind his plans and thoughts there. It seems like he was already planning this shooting but as he mentioned on his blog he “chickened out” on the first try.
George Sodini, 48, killed 3 women after firing over 50 gunshots on the LA Fitness center yesterday before taking his own life.
According to the NY Daily News:
In his final entry on Friday, Sodini directed cops to the “Practice Papers” he left on his coffee table and wrote “the notes in my gym bag can be published freely.”
“I will not be embarased (sic), because, well, I will be dead,” he wrote.
Sodini, who worked as a software developer and lived in lived in Carnegie, Pa., just a few miles from the health club, placed a date of death – Aug. 4 – atop his journal.
“Probably 99% of the people who know me well don’t even think I was this crazy,” he wrote.
“Told by at least 100 girls/women over the years I was a ‘nice guy.’ Not kidding.”
The three women killed where Heidi Overmier, 46, of Carnegie; Elizabeth Gannon, 49, of Pittsburgh; and Jody Billingsley, 38, of Mount Lebanon. Our condolences go out to their family and friends.
